If you do, please raise your hand.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;「YES」&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「日本は面白いですね。コーダという手話がありますから。アメリカにはないんですよ。そのまま（指文字で）CODAと表します。」&lt;br/&gt;It’s interesting that there is a sign for “CODA” in Japan. In America, it is just finger spelled.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「でも最近では、他の国の人もアメリカ人も、日本の（コーダの）手話を真似るようになりました。面白いですね、発端は日本ですよ。発端といえばテレビの字幕もそうです。(字幕も)日本から世界へ広まったんだ。」&lt;br/&gt;Recently, Americans have started copying the Japanese sign for CODA.  Isn’t it interesting? The Japanese Sign is spreading. Speaking of origin, Japan first created TV captions and now it's worldwide.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「コーダとは、両親がろう者で子供が者である事をいいます。そして、両親がろう者で子供もろう者の場合もコーダとよびます。」&lt;br/&gt;“CODA” means children of Deaf parents. Even if only one parent is deaf the child can be a coda.  Also, Coda can be Deaf children of Deaf adults.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「ようするにコーダとは、どんな両親でも、子供と、子供が聴者、ろう者に関係なく、手話でコミュニケーションを取るという構成の事をいいます。」&lt;br/&gt;It is important that at least one of the parents shares a Deaf identity and uses sign language as a communication method. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「僕の場合は聴者なので、２つの文化の理解が大事なんだ。聴者の文化とろう者の文化の・・・。　例えば聴者と会ってる時は、『聴者の文化に従う』ダニーがいるんだ。逆にろう者と会ってる時も、やはり、『ろう者の文化に従う』ダニーがいるんだ。」&lt;br/&gt;It’s important for Codas to know they are bi-cultural; hearing culture and the Deaf culture.  When I’m with hearing people, I follow the hearing way. When I’m with Deaf people, I follow the Deaf way...&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「コーダが聴者で子供の時の場合は聴者とろう者の、それぞれの文化のルールを、２ついっぺんに頭の中に入れるのは大変なんだ。」&lt;br/&gt;It’s not easy to have two different cultures, especially when children are young.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;ダニー「手話は生まれてすぐ・・・なるべく早いうちから覚えるといいね。」&lt;br/&gt;I think it’s better for children to learn signs as early as possible.</description>
